The 2015 State of the Union Address will be given by the 44th President Barack Obama on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in the chamber of the United States House of Representatives. Speaker of the House John Boehner sent a letter on December 19, formally inviting Obama to speak. Some conservatives had proposed that House Republicans withhold the invitation in retaliation for Obama’s executive actions on immigration reform. It will be addressed to the 114th United States Congress, and the Senate will be present.
