Iceland Volcano Spews More Ash

The great Icelandic ash plume cast its devastating shadow over international air traffic again Saturday, grounding millions of global travelers – including hundreds trapped at Kennedy Airport.

The ongoing volcanic eruptions shut down airspace in 15 countries across Europe and elsewhere, with another 10 nations reporting major restrictions due to the dark cloud.

Flights from Australia to Austria were affected in modern Europe’s worst travel nightmare, and U.S. airlines canceled four out of every five flights to and from Europe Saturday. Airports in Paris and northern Italy were closed through at least Monday, while Brussels Airline suspended all its service for the same period.
