The Solari Report – 04 March 2010
On this week’s Solari Report, we will talking with Eric Toensmeier about permaculture and how it can help you build wealth – whether improving the fertility of your home and landscape, your child’s school or local community or creating new opportunities for local business and investment.
Permaculture is “an approach to designing human settlements and agricultural systems that mimic the relationships found in natural ecologies.” Permaculturists are positive, intelligent and invariably conspiring on projects that are fun, useful and involve wonderful, fresh food.
Eric Toensmeier is a perfect example. Eric manages the Tierra de Oportunidades new farmer program of Nuestras Raíces in Holyoke, Massachusetts where he is designing and installing a permaculture landscape in concert with immigrant farmers who are starting farm-based enterprises. He is the author of Perennial Vegetables: From Artichoke to ‘Zuiki’ Taro, a Gardener’s Guide to Over 100 Delicious, Easy-to-Grow Edibles and co-author of two-volume Edible Forest Gardens.
Eric will be sharing a lot about the successful application of permaculture:
- Permaculture: What is it and what could it be to you?
- Permaculture learning and networks
- Applying permaculture to home and budget
- Entreprenurial opportunities
Eric and I will also be discussing this week’s documentary, Killer at Large, about obesity in America and how a processed food supply is poisoning our children.
I will be covering Money and Markets and responding to subscriber questions in Ask Catherine.
If you are a subscriber to The Solari Report, you can post your questions for me and for Eric at your private panel. Listen live on Thursday evening by phone, listen online, or by downloading the mp3 after it is posted on Friday.
