Our hero this week on the Solari Report is Mayor Adam Sanchez of Desert Hot Springs, California. I had the opportunity to hear Mayor Sanchez make a presentation about the city and the initiatives of the city administration last Friday at a lunch sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce at Two Bunch Palm Resort where I was staying.
Desert Hot Springs is a town of 27,000 people adjacent to Palm Springs. It is known for its healing waters. The town’s mission statement is one the Mayor takes very seriously:
“The City of Desert Hot Springs is committed to becoming a world class health and wellness destination based upon its famous miracle waters, unique desert ecosystem, spectacular mountain views, and natural environment.”
Mayor Sanchez then joined us on Sunday for our joint luncheon of the Solari Report and Going Organic Magazine at Two Bunch Palms. I had the opportunity to learn much more about the work the Mayor had done in the not-for-profit community before joining the city council and then being elected to the Mayor’s office. Clearly someone who enjoys helping people, Mayor Sanchez has a vision of connecting each citizen to the knowledge and facilities they need to be healthy, well and successful – and lots of experience at the practical nuts and bolts needed to make that happen on an economically sound basis.
I come from a town that has an excellent mayor. Local officials make an enormous difference to our quality of life at this time. For your election time budget this year, please give local elections your higher priority.
We had forty-eight Solari Report and Going Organic subscribers and entreprenuers join us for the luncheon. The actions being taken by multiple entrepreneurs to create and build businesses that contribute to health and wellness was inspiring – and representative of the private sector leadership that is addressing people’s needs and building community throughout the world.
The more we support good leadership, the more of it we will enjoy.
