Friday, October 10, 2014, I took my final stroll through Harry’s Farmer’s Market in Roswell, Georgia, USA. It was a bittersweet goodbye. Harry and I had been through so much together over the years. Harry’s Farmers Market ignited my ‘real’ food enthusiasm and expanded my food imagination. His store was there for me during many of my major life events like divorce but also meeting new mutual food and wine enthusiasts. The aroma from the bakery filled the over-sized store. I saw him in the store all the time, but we never exchanged words.
Harry’s inspired me to try new recipes with the array of wonderful ingredients in the store. Despite the name, the store offered more than fresh foods. Extensive wines, aromatic bakery, incredible selection of cheeses, coffees, outstanding seafood department, beautiful bouquets of fresh cut flowers and featured locally produced artisan products. It truly was an “event” to go shopping at Harry’s! He also set high quality standards unmatched by other area stores.
