If you think you have had a tough decade so far, consider the leadership of the coal companies. In the last five years, the S&P is up almost 70%. Peabody Energy, the largest private sector coal company in the world, is down 97.7%
And, to make matters worse, the world leadership just gathered in NY and made you out to be the whipping boy. Now Moody’s has announced that half the world’s coal is essentially worthless.

It is a good thing that you don’t give up and just quit – coal is still the largest energy source in the US and coal consumption globally is still rising.
