A Dialogue on Gun Control

E-mail sent by a Solari Report subscriber to their list, including Catherine:

Shooting little children in their school is just too much.

We can no longer allow the NRA and some people to dictate our society.

Please call your Senators, Congress people and President Obama to:
Demand that they create legislation that by a certain (soon) date all automatic weapons become illegal. That people must turn in all automatic weapons before that date, after which any of these weapons found on their person or property will be confiscated and they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

This is only a beginning response to the Newtown tragedy, but it must begin NOW.
Put down the guns of war and let’s talk.

This all begins with each one of us demanding that our leaders act for the common good.

This demand begins with YOU.
Act NOW. Just do it.

Catherine’s Reply:

Since you sent this to me and I have great respect for you as a person, I am taking the liberty of replying.

We don’t know the facts in this case. In these cases it is extremely rare for us to know the facts.

What we do know is that what happened is evil – and we can pray for all concerned and for peace on earth.

Operating without facts this is what I assume probably happened.

IMO, there was a better than 90% chance that this was a professionally planned and organized operation and the alleged shooter was mind controlled programed – a manchurian candidate. He was as much a victim as the children shot. One of the goals is to build support for gun control. This one was particularly brutal as the event earlier this year in Colorado boomeranged — it affirmed the importance of owning a gun. Rarely in these cases is the alleged shooter the sole shooter. Often there are several professionals to make sure the job is accomplished.

I am a gun owner. I believe that if we outlaw guns, that the number of people who will die as a result are far greater than are dying from these operations or any incidents with guns.

This will include people like me. If I did not own a gun where I live, I believe I would be dead. And would have spent many nights in terror instead of sleeping soundly with my firearms by my side. The drug gangs where I live will continue to own plenty of guns. It will simply be the honest citizens who will be disarmed. The gangs that deal drugs that finance the government black operations will continue to be supplied plenty of drugs by the people they work for. Burglers, thieves, home invaders will find a way to make and get guns.

One of the reasons that many people will die is that gun control will make it much easier to raise taxes, to mandate vaccines and force a whole series of policies that lack support in constitutional law and in the population.

The debate on the fiscal cliff is likely to be connected to what has happened. Many politicians live in fear of telling people that there monies have been stolen.

You and I share the same intention – to live in a society free from violence. Unfortunately, we live in a society governed by a group of people who are acting above the law with impunity and are capable of things more evil and ugly than most people can fathom. That is the problem that must be faced and dealt with – not disarming honest citizens.

If there is one governmental policy worth fighting for, it is the right to bear arms. Personal safety, personal liberty and personal financial security will diminish quickly without it.

I would encourage you to learn more about the history of what happens to a people who give up their firearms, you could start with this website:

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership
JPFO

When I was in Washington, they were the group most respected for their positions on gun ownership policies.

I hope I have not offended you. I appreciate how strongly people feel on this topic.

Response

Thank you for your response.
I really respect and appreciate what you write.

I guess the error in the email was in not highlighting automatic weapons. I wrote not of guns in general but only those that have no place other than in war.

I believe there must be a national conversation that will include all aspects.

Catherine I totally respect where you are coming from and what you have to say is important and helps me understand more.

Thank you and all best to you.

Catherine

I checked with a member of my network. It appears that all of the firearms used in last weeks CT school shooting were semi-automatics, not automatics. Here is what he reports.

“An M4 Bushmaster 223 assault rifle (a semi auto version of the M16), a 10 millimeter Glock and a 9 millimeter Sig Sauer. Not sure the handguns were ever fired.”

No autos involved at all. Furthermore, there is hardly ever a crime committed with Auto weapons.

FYI the attached.

Response

Ok so what is the point of semi automatic?

And given that so many innocent people have been killed, what is your solution Catherine?
We need some feasible solutions.

Catherine

Two of the guns I own are semi-automatics.

I point out the nature of the guns, because e-mails encouraging calls to Congressman, if they are not precise and based on the facts, can be misused by lobbyists for other purposes. So best to be careful.

On solutions, they are all the ones we have been talking about for years on the Solari Report. Here is a few.

First step is to get to the truth of what is causing these shootings. Start with the facts. Are they professionally designed and implemented? We don’t know the facts. If enough people
demanded the facts – particularly if they created funding for independent investigations – the efforts might have a chance of getting to the bottom of things that could bring real solutions. Any official efforts will be whitewashes, although even they would bring some out and inspire the independents to dig and find more. Pray and set an intention that the truth be revealed.

Second step is to protect children from vaccines that are poisoning them, from flouride in the water, from drugs (often the school shooters are on drugs), from bad schools (by getting all federal rules and regulations out of schools and allowing them to be locally controlled), from bad food, from entrainment technology and mind control used on tvs, internet, and cell phones, from credit card and student loan debt. Children know that they are being poisoned, made infertile, lied to, harvested and killed. It is a miracle that more of them don’t kill.

Third step is to bring transparency to how our governance and financial systems really work. This could start with bringing transparency to governmental flows and participatory budgeting locally. This goes to the heart of shifting the governance system. Who is really running things and why are they behaving the way they are behaving? Right now we have leadership acting outside the law with impunity.

Fourth step is to make sure your local Sheriff is first rate and has adequate resources. Right now most Sheriffs are spending all their time on foreclosures for the banks and not enough time
making sure the environment is safe.

There is more, but this is a beginning….

Response

I agree we need all of what you mention. This context is crucial and right now we need to specifically address mass killings.

🙂 I would never want to argue with you and all your facts 🙂

Nonetheless I appreciate your taking the time to discuss what is obviously a red flag for you and so many others.

We need to get beyond the red flags though and I appreciate all of your work toward that.
